CARIBBEAN The best time to have a holiday in the Caribbean, that is from November to June at which time you should enjoy temperature between 20 to 30 degrees. As a result of direct flights giving access to Antigua and Barbados it is not surprising that these are the most popular for holiday makers and second home buyers alike.
FLORIDA The climate in Florida is great and it is now much easier to get a good discounted flight at a reasonable price. This is a very popular destination for people with children as in addition to weather it also has many and varied theme attractions. Although property prices continue to rise, and are probably overpriced in the sunshine state, the favorable exchange rate still makes it an area where Britons are still buying second homes.
SOUTH AFRICA Taking account of travel time, Cape Town with a winter temperature of between 20 and 30 degrees is the closes place in the southern hemisphere most likely to provide guaranteed sunshine during our winter. Flights to Cape Town take 11 hours an are expensive with no budget flights. When you are there you will benefit from a good exchange rate which should allow for a relatively cheap holiday.
NEARER TO HOME
PORTUGAL If you are considering a winter holiday or a property purchase in Portugal you must remember if you intend visiting in the winter that similar to the Costa de la Luz although the sun may shine but it could be cold. Having said that Portugal’s warmest winter spot is the Algarve which can have warm days in the winter. however the long sandy beaches will not be that warm. The best place to be is probably the Golf Course. There are frequent budget flights to Faro Airport from a number of UK airports. Property values are higher in the area west of Faro with prices dropping off as you go east. The western Algarve is less developed.
FRANCE The Cote d’Azur is is well known for a moderate and dry winter climate although it has also been known to snow in the winter. The year round destinations are Nice, Cannes and Monaco, which have a full range of restaurants and shops open as usual. Some of the smaller resorts are less busy and do not offer the same attractions as in summer.
